Benefits of Asphalt Driveway Seal Coating

Residential sealcoating services provide many benefits. Apart from giving your home a new and finished look, sealcoating also provides the following tangible benefits:

Protection from Contaminants and Damaging Elements

Driveway sealcoating is an excellent way to protect your driveway from environmental damage. This degradation includes chemical penetration from fuel, salt, and other chemicals. It also prevents water intrusion that causes cracks and oxidation from UV rays that can cause long-term fading.

Reduces Long-Term Repair Costs

A residential sealcoat on your driveway can help you save money on maintenance and repair.

Consider driveway seal coating if your driveway looks a little shabby. Sealcoating involves applying a quality asphalt sealer to driveways. This potent sealer makes driveways last longer and look great for years to come.

Improves Safety

You may think that driveway sealcoating is just a cosmetic upgrade. However, it’s much more than that! Not only does sealant improve the appearance of your driveway, but it also combines functionality and longevity.

When you have a properly sealed driveway, you lower the risks of water penetration, sand and debris damage, and sun damage. As a result, you reduce potential defects to your concrete and fewer trips to the auto repair shop. Furthermore, a sealer reduces the chance of slipping on ice or snow when walking out to your car in the morning.

Increased Curb Appeal and Property Value

Does your driveway need a makeover? Driveway sealcoating will improve the look and feel of your home, giving the right impression to visitors. It also prevents future hairline cracks, potholes, and other damage.

We offer sealcoating services for residential properties in the North Ohio area.

Asphalt Driveway Sealcoating Services

Looking for a professional residential driveway seal coating, repair, and maintenance? Consider Buck Brothers Asphalt Paving and Concrete. We offer a variety of residential sealcoat and paving services that will keep your driveway in excellent condition.

Our services include but are not limited to:

Asphalt Driveway Sealcoating

Your driveway lot is one of the most important parts of your home or business. It’s where you park your car, where your kids play, and where you park your bikes.

But over time, damaging elements like gas, rain, and other chemicals can degrade it. As a result, you expose yourself to an unattractive and unsafe environment.

Asphalt sealcoating seals asphalt preventing ice and water penetration that can degrade the integrity of your pavement. This sealcoat service protects against water run-off, so water doesn’t get into the cracks in your asphalt.

Residential sealcoating also protects your driveway against salt damage during the winter months.

Asphalt Driveway Crack Filling

If you’ve got cracks in your driveway, it can be tough to tell if they’re minor surface flaws or failing asphalt. Fortunately, Buck Brothers Asphalt Paving and Concrete can help you find out.

Asphalt crack filling involves covering and sealing individual cracks in the asphalt with hot rubber crack filler. We will help you choose the right hot rubber crack filler that closely matches your existing asphalt.

Asphalt Line Striping

Line striping is a cost-effective way to enhance your driveway’s appearance while improving the safety of your home. Our professionals accomplish line striping by applying paint or material to create new lines. We can also refresh markings on basketball courts, parking spaces, tennis courts, and more.

Asphalt Driveway Maintenance

You’ve got a lot on your plate. We know that you want to spend less time worrying about your driveway and more time enjoying it.

We have provided homeowners and businesses with residential sealcoating and maintenance services for over 75 years. Whether you need a complete overhaul or a simple repair job, contact us for driveway sealant services, wear and crack repair, and line striping.

Our highly trained professionals will work with you to provide the ideal mix of services. Our chief goal is to protect your driveway and leave it in a better condition than we found it.

The Residential Sealcoat Process

The Residential Sealcoat Process

Before sealing your driveway, it’s crucial to verify that the contractor has the qualifications and experience to do the job right. At Buck Brothers Asphalt Paving and Concrete, we use a 2 lication for our driveway sealcoating services.

First, we edge your driveway with a power edger. This tool exposes hidden cracks and delivers a neat finish.

We thoroughly clean the driveway surface using an extremely high-power air blower. We also use steel-bristle brooms to remove sand and other debris.

Once cleaned, we prime oil spots using an oil primer to ensure the sealers adhere properly.

We then apply the sealant around all edges of the garage, retaining walls, and other structures using a specialty broom to ensure a clean, crisp application.

We then apply either a 1 coat broom application of a quality sealant for redential projects or a 2-coat broom and spray application for commercial projects to prevent crack formation and degradation.

Once done, we put a strip of caution tape at the driveway’s edge. This tape protects the installation from pedestrians or motor vehicles that can jeopardize the finished product’s integrity.

The sealed surface is ready to drive on in 24-48 hours.

How does sealcoating save you money?

Driveway seal coating is a low-cost way to extend your asphalt’s longevity, saving you money in the long run. A properly maintained and sealed driveway with quality sealant won’t crack or fade. You’re also protecting it from repeated repairs and prolonging its durability.

Is sealcoating asphalt a good idea?

Driveway sealcoating protects your valuable investment. Without sealer, UV rays from the sun can fade your asphalt. Heavy traffic can also form cracks and potholes, severely damaging your home’s foundation.

Answers to Common Questions about Sealcoating

What is sealcoating?

Sealcoating or pavement sealer is a thin liquid layer added over an asphalt pavement to protect it from the elements, such as water, harmful chemicals, and U.V. rays. Asphalt sealcoating will not cure issues on your driveway, parking lot, or other asphalt surfaces. However, it will help prevent such damages from occurring in the first place.

When applied by the experts at Buck Brothers Asphalt Paving & Concrete, sealcoating will help improve curb appeal, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the life of your asphalt driveway, and other pavement surfaces.

What is seal coating made of?

Coal tar sealer is a type of sealant used to protect and enhance the appearance of asphalt pavement, typically on driveways, parking lots, and other commercial or industrial surfaces.

It is made from coal tar, which is a byproduct of the process used to manufacture coke, a fuel used in steel production.

The coal tar is mixed with various additives and applied to the surface of the pavement to create a protective barrier that helps to prevent damage from water, sunlight, and chemicals.

Coal tar sealer is known for its durability, resistance to weathering, and ability to create a deep, rich black color on the pavement, enhancing its appearance and overall value.

When is the best time to apply asphalt sealer?

We recommend 1 year after the new asphalt and then every 2-3 years after that.

What is the ideal temperature to apply a seal coat?

Seal coating application works best under cool temperatures. However, temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit are too low for seal coat application. At freezing temperatures, the water in the sealcoating could freeze, making the finished product separate and peel. The best temperatures for applying a sealcoating are between 55 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

How long should I wait after seal coating an asphalt pavement?

Depending on the weather, an asphalt surface takes 24 to 48 hours to cure after applying a sealcoating.

Keep vehicles off your new or existing driveway until the final coat cures correctly.

How do I apply sealer on asphalt pavements?

Using a squeegee, brush, or specialized spray equipment, you can apply sealer on pavement surfaces.

We recomend 1 broom coat for residential and 2 spray coats for commercial.

Following the manufacturer’s instructions is critical to ensure the best results.

Are there benefits of using additives in sealer?

Additives help accelerate the drying time for extra coats of sealer. They also help minimize tire marks.
